Lorraine Hooks - for Mike Hooks LLC

Freedom of design creates a modern, efficient dredger

C-Job completed the concept, basic, and detail design, plus systems integration for the 27-inch cutter section dredger Lorraine Hooks, for US dredging company, Mike Hooks LLC. We collaborated closely with SPI/Mobile Pulley Works (MPW) who constructed the dredge equipment in Alabama, and Southwest Shipyards in Texas, who built the vessel. The Lorraine Hooks was delivered to its owner in 2023.

Mike Hooks and MPW gave C-Job a high degree of freedom in developing the vessel design. We repaid their confidence with a modern and efficient dredge design, customized to their requirements, which meets the latest industry standards for safety, comfort, and efficiency.

The design of the Lorraine Hooks was also optimized to align with the production facilities of MPW and Southwest shipyard and operational philosophy of Mike Hooks. The dredge is equipped with an idler barge, a spud carrier system (on the dredge and idler barge), a submerged dredge pump, anchor booms, a cutter service platform, and accommodation for 35 people.
